Of all the great things about having a global job, my absolute favorite is the opportunity to travel the world. I love flying everywhere and working with my teams and clients in many great projects. Here are some musings from the road:
Horses don't have wifi in Costa Rica. Also, working while on vacation is not appreciated by all.
Best airport bathroom by far: Singapore Changi. Chicago O'Hare is also pretty good if you value rotating plastic toilet covers.
Always have fun with your team. Ordering ten room service breakfast items for your Planning Director or having yellow penguins scare the hell out of your account partner count as valid activities on the road. (21C Hotel, Cincinnati).
The craziest thing about this picture is that it's not black and white.
Hand sanitizer is a must.
"I bought it to make soup but my son liked it so now it's our pet". Heard at an in-home visit in Guangzhou. I love to visit people's houses.
If you can tell me why do we bawl like crazy while watching movies on planes, please do. I'd love to hear your theory. I totally lost it with Jerry Maguire the other day.
If you want a better hotel room, tip the one person nobody ever tips: the front desk person.
Sadness is a poor craft service table. This was in Madrid.
I've never asked my cab driver in Hong Kong why he needed 6 phones. I still regret it.
Staying at almost any Westin can suck your will to live.
Always eat everything. Even the little guys with eyes.
This is my favorite bill in the whole world. It makes me so happy I never want to spend it.
Packing for work trips get harder and harder as your kids get older.
Which makes it easy to understand why these places exist.
Always sing with the mariachis! Give them tequila and ask for "El Rey".
Makes sense in China.
